Andreas Gefeller's book The Japan Series achieved Gold at the German Photo Book Awards 2012. Prizes are awarded for the outstanding achievements by photographers, writers and publishers. The Japan Series is available for purchased at Hasted Kraeutler.
HASTED KRAEUTLER NOW REPRESENTS KIM DONG YOO
Hasted Kraeutler is pleased to announce representation of Kim Dong Yoo in the United States. Born in 1965 in Kongju, Korea, Kim Dong Yoo is one of Korea's best known and most widely exhibited artists. Hasted Kraeutler will exhibit his paintings for the first time in the United States from February 9 - March 24, 2012.
HASTED KRAEUTLER EXHIBITING AT PULSE MIAMI 2011
Hasted Kraeutler will exhibit the work of its contemporary artists at Pulse Miami 2011, which runs from December 1 - 4 at the Ice Palace in Miami, Florida. Artists exhibited will include Jeff Bark, Michael Benson, Nick Brandt, Marc Dennis, Kim Dong Yoo, Julian Faulhaber, Andreas Gefeller, Nathan Harger, Erwin Olaf and Paolo Ventura.
MARC DENNIS IN EXHIBITION AT THE FLAG FOUNDATION
The work of Marc Dennis will be exhibited in Art² at the Flag Foundation. The exhibition opens on Friday, September 23, 6 - 8 pm and will be on view until December 17. The title of the exhibition, Art², refers to the use of a specific work of art in the visual language of an original work of art. Whether a literal transcription or a point of departure, the featured artists quote from artists ranging from those of their own generation to those from decades, and even centuries before. This exhibition will coincide with the first exhibition of Marc Dennis's paintings at Hasted Kraeutler from October 20 to December 3, 2011.
HASTED KRAEUTLER NOW REPRESENTS NICK BRANDT
Hasted Kraeutler is pleased to announce representation of Nick Brandt in New York. Born and raised in London, England, in 1966, Brandt studied painting and film at St. Martins School of Art. He now lives in California. Brandt photographs wildlife in Africa. His photographs both portray natural beauty and refer to the diminishing of the natural world at the hand of humanity's poaching and environmental devastation. In September 2010, Brandt founded the non-profit Big Life Foundation, dedicated to the conservation of Africa's wildlife and ecosystems.

The Johannes Vermeer Award, Netherlands' state prize for the arts, has been awarded to Erwin Olaf, for the continuous high quality of his oeuvre.
PAOLO VENTURA IN THE VENICE BIENNALE 2011
Paolo Ventura has been selected by curator Vittorio Sgarbi for the Italian national pavilion of the Venice Biennale's 54th International Art Exhibition. Photographs from the artist's Winter Stories series will be exhibited along with new photographs from his Venice series. The exhibition, curated by Bice Curiger with the title "Illuminazioni - Illuminations", will be accessible to the public from June 4th – November 27th, 2011.

Martin Schoeller achieved a new auction record at Christie's London on November 26, 2010. The photograph, Angelina with Blood, 2003, realized a price of 30,000 British Pounds or approximately $47,000.
ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY AWARDS CENTENARY MEDAL TO ALBERT WATSON
Albert Watson received the Royal Photographic Society's Centenary Medal at a ceremony in London on September 9, 2010. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to the art and science of photography.

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, Albert Watson studied film and television at the Royal College of Art in London before he moved to the United States to launch a career in photography in 1970. Over the span of his prolific career, Watson has expanded the possibilities for artistic, commercial and fashion photography. Photo District News named Albert Watson one of the twenty most influential photographers based on a readers’ poll. Watson has also received a Lucie Award for lifetime achievement in photography, a Grammy Award for the cover of the Mason Profitt album, Come and Gone (1975), and three ANDY Awards for creativity in advertising. In an exhibition scheduled for Fall 2010, HASTED KRAEUTLER will present photographs by Albert Watson coinciding with the publication of two new books of his work.
